10th Workshop on Innovative Mouse Models (IMM2019)

19 - 21 June 2019
NKI Netherlands Cancer Inst
Leiden, NL

On 19-21June 2019, the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) and the Leiden University Medical Center jointly organize the 10th edition of the workshop on Innovative Mouse Models (IMM2019) in Leiden, the Netherlands. In its 3-day program, the workshop encourages an in-depth and unvarnished discussion of novel developments with a series of excellent invited speakers and presentations selected from submitted abstracts.

The goal of IMM2019 is to bring together a diverse group of scientists interested in all aspects of advanced mouse experiments within current ethical standards. Among the participants are key developers of emerging technologies as well as researchers whowish to apply and assess these new approaches. IMM2019 is also a unique opportunity for young researchers to share their experiences by means of a poster or brief oral presentation with a highly specialized audience.

The Workshop aims to discuss both the novel technologies developed in the last years and the exemplificative results of their application in research. Since major breakthroughs in the development of novel modelling technologies and of new mouse models come from the field of cancer research, we envision that mouse models of cancer will be extensively described and discussed. In the current program, 5 invited speakers are cancer researchers.

  • How to make genetically-engineered mice in the CRISPR/Cas9 era?
  • Novel in vivo applications of CRISPR/Cas9 technology
  • Advanced imaging and phenotyping
  • How to deal with the mouse microbiota?
  • Closing debate: the future of mouse models in fundamental and/or translational research

Target groups:

  • group leaders
  • managers of the European mouse facilities
  • postdocs and PhD students
  • technicians
